Amino Acids

£175.00

Amino acids not only make up all the protein in your body but are also responsible (some indirectly) for all mammalian biological processes.

These include:-

            Transmission and control of neuronal signals;

            Regulation of muscle activity;

            Hormonal regulation;

            Enzymes and blood transport proteins;

            Formation of the ligaments, tendons and bone matrix;

            Supply of energy pathway intermediates.

If low levels of amino acids are identified the problem is usually corrected simply, either by a change in diet or with supplements.  Our amino acid test is based on the collection of a dried blood spot.  This is easily done with our supplied test kit and requires the collection of only a couple of drops of blood taken from the finger using our easy to use finger pricker.

Our test analyses for 40 compounds, these are mainly amino acids but some are biologically important related compounds.  The test result provides you with the amount of each compound, a reference range and an indication if you’re high or low.

When ordering the test please indicate the age of the person providing the blood spot since different finger prickers are required for different types of skin.  Please be aware that we recommend not eating or taking dietary supplements for 8hrs prior to taking a blood spot sample.
